China's telecommunications industry began a new round of restructuring

May 23, announced the reorganization of China's telecommunications industry, announced specific plans.China Railcom Group Co., Ltd. into China Mobile Communications Corporation, a wholly-owned-enterprise, will remain relatively independent operators.China Unicom and China Netcom into the new China Unicom, the China Unicom's CDMA network of China Telecom to stripping.

Which I'm most concerned about is China 3G network license issue. After the announced restructuring plan, which is issued three 3G network licences. The first one is China Mobile's TD-CDMA licence, the second is the new China Unicom WCDMA licence, and the new China Telecom's CDMA 2000 licence. But with the Olympics approaching, 3G networks may be issued a full licence will be postponed until after the end of the Olympic Games.

Now it seems that the original order to break the monopoly of the telecommunications industry and the establishment of the China Netcom and China Railcom, has ceased to exist, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the way to survive. Unfortunately, no longer independent, the others are already.

About 3G network, I think that as long as there are sufficient funds, then WCDMA will be the king, in particular WCDMA upgrade to High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA) later. China Unicom both in terms that are advantageous. Now the establishment of the China Mobile TD-CDMA network, due to the lack of terminals, coupled with technical imperfections. Far as China is now the EDGE mobile operators.TD-CDMA network speed fall far short of the requirements of the people, and the three major mobile terminal didn't produce a TD-CDMA mobile phone. The contrary, as WCDMA networks, as in many developed countries have been operating for many years, the production of mature, and have a high degree of commercialization. The new China Unicom will have great development advantages. As a new type of CDMA 2000, China Telecom could be very little capital investment to complete the upgrade of existing networks, because the CDMA 2000 is a CDMA network upgrades.

In short I am more optimistic about the new reorganization of China Unicom. And now there is news that China Telecom is deploying WiMax and urban Wifi. China Mobile to used the TD-CDMA technology in China, after the fate will be an unknown number, perhaps by virtue of China Mobile's strong financial backing and inherent user groups, China Mobile will probably create a new situation, Perhaps. Who can predict the future?
